Dear Customer,

Everybody wants it, but nobody really knows how to do it. Agile won't easily scale for critical systems. The 13th Vector Forum attracted over 100 participants who discussed agile scaling and shared their best practices. Our newsletter shows you the highlights as PDF and videos. Do you need to manage your assessments, TARA or HARA more professionally? Then the new COMPASS is just the thing for you. Test our free demo. We look forward to your feedback!

Highlight: Agile Development—Best Practices from Bosch to ZF

Scaling Agile was the topic of the 13th Vector Forum 2019 on June 27 in Stuttgart. More than 100 leading practitioners and industry experts discussed the challenges of agile scaling across industry domains. Bosch, Daimler, Festo, Knorr-Bremse, ZF and Vector presented the current state of agile scaling. With their own experience, they showed how agile transformation can be put into practice. Some conclusions: There is no one size that fits all. Agile methods must always be adapted to the specific constraints. Complex methods such as SAFe are anything but agile, and are thus often doomed to failure.

Practice: COMPASS for ASPICE and Security

COMPASS has been released on a new platform with completely new functions. It now supports TARA, ASPICE, ISO 26262, SecurityCheck and SafetyCheck. COMPASS is the Vector tool for planning, executing and evaluating assessments, audits and analyses. It satisfies all requirements that are relevant to an efficient audit and analysis tool. These include support based on different maturity models, assessment methods and other checks, e.g. Threat and Risk Analysis. COMPASS is not restricted to one specific standard or model. It rather supports different models and can be extended to customized models, checks and output formats—just as you need it.

Focus: Introducing SOTIF

Safety of the intended functionality (SOTIF) creates the basis for safeguarding (partially) autonomous systems. SOTIF and the underlying standard ISO/PAS 21448:2019 link functional safety with requirements engineering. But what exactly is SOTIF and how is it ramped up in practice? Vector has summarized its years of experience to help you get started. Contact us to beef up your safety processes: Fit for practice and efficient.

Stimulus: Expand Your Resilience

Not all runs as we like it. Your pet project is stopped, conflicts and misunderstandings endanger relations. Drawbacks belong to life and cost energy and nerves. But how to deal with them? Resilience is the magic word in medicine to emerge stronger from crises. Most important: You can strengthen your own resilience. Resilient people know their strengths and hold to their goals. Own values and relationships are their compass, especially in difficult situations. If you live to your values, you can mitigate problems. Another hint: Attentive communication helps in the everyday life, both sender and receiver.
